Cask No. B4.8

Stars in their eyes

$85

Where innovation and grain-to-glass ideologies meet, this single cask may be found. If not for the rich oak component, this Bourbon might pass for a sherried Scotch. Lots of sherried character is amplified by barrel-inspired smoke and spice.

Tasting Panel Notes

We were lured by the rich aromas of maple syrup on cedar wood as black cherries, damsons and tobacco combined with caramel sauce in coffee. Silky smooth textures in the mouth coated ginger, cinnamon and chillies with cocoa powder, burnt toffee and barbecue sauce before the peppery, dry spice of rye emerged. Water unveiled golden raisins in sticky toffee pudding drizzled with dark navy rum and served with nutmeg, coconut and cloves in ginger and rye bread. Aniseed and root beer now combined while smoked almonds, praline and dill faded into sticky dessert wine, tawny port and Pedro Ximénez sherry served with milk chocolate and cinnamon buns.
