Tasting Panel Notes
An intriguing and unusual nose. Our panel noted a single banana wrapped in a bandage ... before faint and distant petrol, toasted oatmeal, sweetened breakfast cereals and coconut water in a mojito. Reduction brought notes of sea buckthorn, dried flowers, brake fluid and cod liver oil. When neat, the palate suggested pina colada, demerara rum, lightly medicinal touches and freshly baked brown bread. Water made it slightly mentholated, with notes of rolling tobacco, pistachios, vanilla sponge cake and new leather. Matured for eight years in a bourbon barrel before being transferred to a refill Nicaraguan rum barrel.
