Frisky as a kitten
Speyside, Lossie
A rather coquettish nose – attractive but elusive – fruity elements (pineapple cubes, tinned apricots and peaches and cherry pie), vanilla ice-cream and soft caramel, with light hints of pencils and new baskets. On the palate, it is frisky as a kitten – tarte au citron, acid drops, spiced fruit punch and a finish of wood shavings, cracked black pepper and ginger. The reduced nose has the enticing sweetness of a banquet of butterscotch, toffee and caramel latte, trailing a suspicion of sharpness (lemonade, pink grapefruit). The palate became more mellow – tropical fruits, cinnamon ‘lucky tatties’, acidic Moffat Toffees* and a dry pepper finish. (*unique tangy and sweet toffees made in the Scottish town of Moffat)
