Pink, alluring, perfumed and sweet
Speyside, Spey
An interesting nose – sweetly perfumed, with powder puff, petits fours, forest fruits and hints of hessian, linen and rolling tobacco. A warm glow suffuses the palate, with jam tarts, raspberry sauce on ice-cream and cherry, apricot and rhubarb flavoured sweets. The reduced nose has lemon puffs, sherbet straws, orange Calippo, pink wafers, pink Edinburgh rock and Flumps; plus an earthier, blueberry fruitiness and traces of perfumed smoke. The palate remains pink and alluring, perfumed and sweet – foamy shrimps, candy floss, cherry-flavoured yoghurt and watermelon – mouth-tingling with a drying finish – it’s like kissing a fruitily perfumed woman’s cheek at a beach fairground.
