Sipping tea beneath a tree

Speyside, Lossie

Beneath a majestic Scots pine we sat amongst pinecones and evocative aromas that blended beeswax polish with sandalwood. Floral tones of lavender joined with vanilla ice cream whilst on the palate came chilli spice, limoncello and creamy textures. Greener notes emerged with water that combined nettles and kaffir lime leaves with jasmine green tea and honeydew melon. Deeper notes of damp tobacco and dark chocolate framed dried apple rings in muesli as flavours of buttery fudge balanced dried thyme, tree bark and strong Darjeeling tea. Finally, a touch of almond syrup combined with ginger warmth on a finish that echoed pepper and peppermint.
