The panel initially noted yellow flowers heavy with pollen, earthy turmeric, apricot jam, hessians and expensive olive oil. A rich and robust example of this Speyside stalwart. With water we found plasticine, sunflower oil, herbal extracts, eucalyptus and sun lotion. The palate showed an initial and very satisfying syrupy texture, along with notes of fruit salad juices, greengage, plum wine, star fruit and custard spiced with cardamom. Water further opened things up and added notes of buttermilk, barley sugars, American cream soda, camphor, mineral oil and sandalwood. Fragrant yet firm and wonderfully thick whisky.
