Cask No. 7.222
Lip-smacking, endless joy
Speyside, Lossie
The nose has various layers – mainly juicy fruits (pineapple cubes, raspberry, melon, mango and passion-fruit) but also vanilla fudge, caramel and dark chocolate and eventually tobacco leaf and perfumed wood. On the palate, the cherry cola, Turkish Delight, orange jellies, rum and banana are tempered by dry woody spices, especially cinnamon and clove. Water brings Jaffa cakes, apple strudel, pears and pink peppercorns to the nose. The reduced palate has glace cherries, chocolate orange, Jamaica cake, brown sugar and pipe tobacco; a lip-smacking and never-ending joyful finish. After 23 years in ex-bourbon wood we moved this into high-toast, medium-char new oak.
