A pale, shiny, platinum gold colour was the first thing we noticed pouring the sample. The aroma was at first that of mint bonbons, peppermint tea and freshly cut grass before the sweet/spicy note of a rocket salad dressed in a honey and pink peppercorn sauce emerged. Sweet, malty flavours dominated to begin with neat, but very soon subtler notes of desiccated coconut and pine appeared. With some water we were wandering the Scottish countryside with the gorse in full bloom and munching on a variety of biscuits; bourbon cream, malted milk and Garibaldi.
