Tasting Panel Notes
The comforting scents of cooking apples with orange zest stewing on a hob and licking a wooden honey spoon left us all feeling very content. The taste prolonged the contentment, with manuka honey on blueberries, pinecone and cider jam, vanilla buttercream frosting and a variety of danish pastries. After reduction, toasted muesli with raisins, Greek-style honey yoghurt and a summer berry Eton mess were followed by rice pudding arancini with rosehip syrup, almonds and white chocolate cream. Ah yes, the good old days! Following 13 years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we transferred this whisky into a first fill American oak oloroso hogshead.
