A surprisingly punchy and mentholated aroma, not at all typical of this distillery the Panel noted. Wintergreen, hot cross buns and aniseed boiled sweets at first nosing. Then ouzo, wild fennel, lemon infused olive oil, sunflower seeds and crystallised orange peel studded into warm brioche. Some crispness of starched linens in the background. With water we found cream crackers, buttermilk icing, rice paper, lime curds, fruit loops and Tizer! The mouth was immediately rich and full of things like aged Cointreau, dried Chengpi orange peel, hibiscus tea, bergamot, mossy bark and lemon-heavy hot toddy. Water revealed jellied forest fruits, pineapple rings in syrup, heather flowers, vanilla cream soda and lanolin.
