The nose was divine, a heavenly cocktail of spiced rum, fresh mint and strawberries that reflected off a tall glass of mojito. Mashed banana joined creamy notes of vanilla and butter on hot crumpets. Thick wedges of fruitcake and marzipan sat beside custard cream biscuits as we approached the tingly palate that embraced the character of wasabi peas and horseradish sauce. Cinnamon blended with white chocolate and crème caramel before a fresh wave of peppermint drifted over coconut. A thick and viscous texture delivered fruit scones with clotted cream that later became custard over bananas. The texture endured through to the considerable finish that embraced both new oak and gentle spice.
