Cask No. 35.170

A dram for an Arabian Prince

Speyside, Lossie

The delightful nose gave impressions of a wealthy Arabian prince’s tent – leather and rugs, herbal tea, exquisite perfumes, roasted chestnuts and abundant fruit (dried apricots and figs, pears, pomegranate seeds). The palate had an unctuous, syrupy texture and flavours of honey, muscovado, banana fritters, apple caramel granny cake and ripe fig; with complicating hints of Calvados, black tea and menthol. The reduced nose had exotic teas, tobacco leaf, marons glacés, plum brandy and sugar-coated fennel seeds. The palate was now juicier and fresher, tasting of fruits in syrup, with underlying touches of oiled wood – easy to drink, hard not to love.

Drinking tip: For a lazy, dreamy afternoon, with a taxi (or a camel) home afterwards.
