The nose gets gentle, slowly unfolding smoke (heather moor-burn, garden bonfires), then ice-cream, blossom honey, maple syrup, menthol cigarettes and a flower shop. The palate presents a tempting trilogy of tastes – mellow smoke, exquisite sweetness (toffee, Turkish Delight, fruit flan, melon, custard tart) and heady floral perfumes. The reduced nose finds tropical fruits – lime marmalade, physalis, persimmon, apricot, mango peel, orange muscat. On the palate, the sweetness now dominates (candy floss, agave syrup and honey), with faint memories of barbecued prawns and flower bouquets – a dangerously drinkable sundowner, with a lip-smacking, heavenly aftertaste.
