A delicate, however deep scent of charred pineapple and candied orange peel was followed by tobacco and plum jam before ripe pears lay on a polished wooden table. On the palate, still plenty of zing like an old-fashioned lemonade butter while at the same time, three fruit marmalade, dried cherries as well as soft and juicy pitted prunes emerged. Water released a lovely heady perfumed floral note of sweetened, freshly brewed black tea laden with exotic lychee fruit. Creamy and fresh on the palate which reminded us of homemade Caesar salad dressing made with anchovies, garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice and olive and palm oil.
