April Mid-Month Outturn
Let’s get whisked away to Springtime in the Speyside with five (5) newly released Society casks! Scotland’s most prolific whisky-producing region is in full flavour bloom with April’s mid-month selections. Five different flavour profiles promise to offer a fantastic journey for your palate’s pleasure!
Our Springtime in the Speyside bundle unites three casks that will provide an electrifying sensory adventure! Cask No. 71.89 Curious but congenial offers zesty citrus and tropical fruit flavours whilst the 1st fill ex-bourbon cask imparts a hearty measure of oaky goodness. Citrus returns on the finish combined with chocolate and spice for a spectacular opening dram. Cask No. 41.149 In an old bodega will win you over with aromas and flavours of dark cherries, creamy confections and sherry-soaked raisins from time spent in two different Oloroso casks! This double maturation affords complex nutty and savoury elements that result in a depth that will have you coming back again and again. Just finish the flight with Cask No. 108.51 From the seaside to the A & E side that boasts a lightly peated freshness perfect for the season. Maritime delicacies and fresh herbs pervade the aromatic profile as more medicinal notes of dark chocolate comes through on the palate for an endless finish.
We also have a dashing duo of Speyside malts we absolutely adore. First, Cask No. 48.143 Worm silk possesses elegance, complexity and loads of richness. We feel the malts of distillery 48 are an incredible find to cherish the robust distillate created from worm tubs. Distillery 48 malts will provide big sweet fruit, lots of exotic aromas and a mouthful of dynamic single malt. They’re under the radar and a great treat. Not so under-the-radar is distillery 9. Cask No. 9.229 Hits the sweet spot is another stunner from this home of truly stunning malts. In their youth it’s all fruity, grassy, oaky fun and, as they age, the elements integrate beautifully and take on active oak casks exceedingly well. Vanilla and caramel notes frame juicy ripe fruits of all kinds in this well-aged, sumptuous whisky.
Embrace the myriad flavours offered in each cask released today and share your discoveries with fellow whisky lovers! Last night, the Society’s Jenna Elie and Scott Brunow sat down to taste today’s entire release. Click here to check out their thoughts on today’s casks.
