Darling Delight features two finely aged malts with one discerning difference – distillation! Scotch whisky must be distilled twice, but a handful of distilleries in Scotland distill a third time in pursuit of a softer style of malt. Cask No. 5.77 A real darling is an 18-year-old from a producer that is known to employ this third distillation. It makes for a decidedly mellow and smooth expression redolent with a bounty of fruit-laden desserts, milk chocolate and marzipan. Cask No. 9.205 A surprising delight is 17-year-old and twice distilled, offering slightly more intensity in the glass and loads of delicious aromas and flavours to explore. Nutty confections, citrusy chocolate, apple pie, bergamot and rhubarb are all waiting to be discovered. Both are shining examples of how distillation influences the flavour and texture of whisky and will make for a decadent tasting!
