This was like the warm sun in winter, like an encounter in a café, like a lazy afternoon black tea or a smile from a passer-by - it just makes your day. The taste was that of a warm embrace and a bouquet of flowers, roses, ivy and myrtle which, in Victorian times, stood for beauty, friendship and good luck. After adding a tiny drop of water, lovely sweet aromas of chocolate-dipped marzipan almond horns, Turkish delight and gulab jamun appeared while the taste was sweet and silky like a satin scarf and a slice of creamy coconut cheesecake. Following thirteen years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we transferred this whisky into a 1st fill American oak PX Sherry hogshead.
