Gentle and evocative
Speyside, Lossie
The nose was soft, gentle and evocative – we shared stories of tropical fruits carried on a warm breeze and a waxy raincoat after the rain – also marzipan, lemon puffs, Turkish Delight and sweetie tobacco. The palate was immediately sweet, attractive and lightly perfumed – Jolly Ranchers, lime on mango, peach, Starburst and Tangfastics. With water, the nose gave us perfumed pear, sherbet lemons, marmalade, Fruit Salad chews and varnished wood – all very positive, innocent and untainted. The palate was now delightfully tasty, smooth and easy – orange sorbet and melon fruit cocktail, with a tangy tangerine, mint and fennel seed tingle to finish.
