Winner of the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition BEST INDEPENDENT MERCHANT SINGLE MALT

The aromas were not shy and immediately carried us in the direction of carnation and jasmine flowers strewn amongst gooseberry bushes. A clean and sweet earthiness was present as rhubarb crumble mingled with banana skin beneath a dusting of turmeric and cinnamon. Aromas swirled and changed like a culinary chameleon, dipping into wonderful citrus tones of pink grapefruit and orange oil whilst giving a respectful nod to rich and opulent chocolate truffles rolled in cocoa powder. The palate pervaded our very beings with a mouth filling bliss that conveyed a complexity that took time to understand. Marmalade on brown toast and cherry cola bounded into liquorice and hard toffee like the colliding of stars. A gentle warmth soothed every sense as pickled ginger and horseradish sauce eventually delivered us to a finish of green tea and antique wood.
