Cask No. 72.50

A Nomad's tent

Speyside, Lossie

This was a treasure chest of a nose – a Nomad’s tent of Middle Eastern pleasures – a gift of long years – Turkish Delight, toasted coconut, spiced plums, Charentais melon, concentrate of mango and passion-fruit, honey, brown sugar, malt loaf and treacle tart, with some linseed oil. The palate somehow managed to combine invigorating spice (liquorice, coltsfoot, cinnamon, clove, tobacco, sugar-coated fennel seeds) with calming sweetness (toffee, Manuka honey, Crunchie bars, candied orange dipped in dark chocolate). Water brought citrus and sugared almonds to the nose and donuts, tablet and anise to the palate – all rounded off with a long, blissfully tingling denouement.

Drinking tip: For special occasions, with special friends or for quiet moments of relaxation and reflection.
