Cask No. 71.61

Orange blossom in botanical gardens

Speyside, Lossie

A perfumed pungency incorporated lavender and honeysuckle with the ripest of oranges and soft mandarins, whilst dustings of icing sugar settled on tarte tatin with its caramelised fruit and butter. Juicy fruit jelly sweets and Turkish delight provided a chewy feel that combined with beeswax polish and warm toffee to give delightful textures. A smattering of ginger and cinnamon greeted the tongue initially to be joined by crushed pink peppercorns and sandalwood. Then sweetness oozed from honeycomb and baklava with a thick slice of toasted malt loaf. Fruitiness followed as pineapple juice merged with orange sweets and floral notes of heather. Finally hazelnut brittle gave a crunch to the finish with cloudy lemonade and fresh sawdust.
