A crunchy moreish delight!
Highland, Northern
An aroma of slices of blood orange in sweet rose water was followed by theatre-style buttered popcorn, caramel mud cake and millionaire’s shortbread. On the palate neat like a sweet, dark chocolate, hazelnut and salted caramel tart however in the finish we detected a sharp, ‘sub-acid’ flavour of cooking apples as well as salt and vinegar crisps. When we added a drop of water there emerged a sweet/spicy scent of Gewurztraminer cranberry sauce seasoned with allspice berries, cinnamon, nutmeg, peppercorn and cloves whilst to taste pickled sour green plums – a crunchy, moreish, sweet, salty, sour spicy delight!
