Nomad’s tent vibe
Speyside, Lossie
The nose teased with perfumed hankies and flower meadows, boiled sweets (Fruit Polos, butterscotch), cigarette packets and pencils – a nostalgic sniff into a leather handbag. The palate was succulent, juicy, fruity and sweet – rhubarb rock, ripe figs, sherbet lemon and golden syrup; juniper, leather and coconut gave us a bit of a nomad’s tent vibe. The reduced nose moved into the patisserie – coconut volcano cakes, French Fancies and honey on buttered crumpets. The palate, bursting with flavour, was a pure delight – mango, lemon and sherbet straws complimented by a finish of ginger, coffee bean, leather and oak – Speyside at its best!
