The Vaults Collection

Cask No. 7.250

A supernatural delight

Speyside, Lossie

Looking at the colour we started with tasseography, a fortune-telling method also known as tea leaf reading. Sit back, relax and see what will happen. When we took a sip, we were transported to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow and stood for the first time in front of the painting Christ of St John of the Cross by Salvador Dali – an eerie feeling! Diluted; back to reality with soy sauce, miso broth, dark chocolate with smoky chipotle chilli, fig jam, wild strawberries and treacle scones – dark, earthy and full of sweet sultanas. At 27 years old, we transferred this whisky to a first fill oloroso hogshead for the remainder of its maturation.

About Cask No. 7.250 Supernatural delight:

Cask No. 7.250 Supernatural delight combines 27 years in ex-bourbon cask with 3 years in first-fill Oloroso sherry cask to create a tour de force of flavour. Beguiling aromas indicative of three decades of aging serve as prelude to a sherry-soaked rush of flavours as Oloroso character and the distillery character coalesce into a dark and delicious taste adventure. This superb whisky is a testament to the beauty achieved through patient maturation and careful cask management. Find out why connoisseurs have been chasing bottles from this distillery for decades!

About The Vaults Collection:

The Vaults Collection is a selection of the finest and rarest single cask, single malt whisky, set aside from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society’s most remarkable stocks over the years. They have been released from the depths of our treasure trove of casks, after decades of slow maturation and careful nurturing. The Vaults Collection represents the whisky lover’s dream: chance to journey back into whisky history, including the opportunity to experience styles or distilleries that no longer exist. The Collection takes its name from the Society’s historical home at The Vaults in Leith, Scotland’s oldest commercial building in continuous use whose connection with the drinks world dates back to the 12th century. Each bottle has a specially designed label and is offered in a beautiful wooden box.
