The panellists sat back in their old leather chairs and put their feet up for a well earned rest whilst savouring the warming aromas of baking fruit cake with strawberries, pineapples, walnuts and marzipan combined with cinnamon, ground cloves, golden syrup and hard chocolate icing. There was a fruity zing of three fruit marmalade and lemon sherbet with the light oiliness of linseed and also balsamic vinegar on a tropical fruit salad. Then more sweetness from chocolate chip cookies still warm from the oven, sugared almonds and perfumed tobacco with a gratifying finish of grape seed tannins and fresh coconut.
