A perfect pairing
Highland, Southern
A very clean aroma of waxed floors greeted the Panel followed by the intriguing scent of fragrance oil "Forget-Me-not" (also known as herbe d'amour, or less poetic, field scorpion grass). On the palate clearly the spirit played the first fiddle with a fizzy, slightly sweet bitterness and interesting interplay between chilli and ginger. Diluted it felt like we were dissolving a vitamin C tablet in bitter lemon with a touch of eucalyptus/menthol. On the taste we ordered a "hauf and a hauf" (normally a glass of whisky and a half-pint of beer) but this time Belgian style grain based jenever and a wheat beer.
