Cask No. 63.57

Fields of pleasure

Speyside, Spey

The nose opened with an abundance of candyfloss and lychees as perfumed aromas of roses and lilac blew across summer meadows. Ripe fruits combined apples and dessert pears with mangos and hints of gooseberries. Papaya followed on the palate alongside a raw chilli heat that faded into ripe banana, liquorice and fine oak sawdust. Water accentuated a myriad of fruit flavours, introducing apricots and cantaloupe with Gewurztraminer wine. Elements of marzipan joined vanilla sponge cake to provide a bed for Victoria plums and fizzy ginger. The clean earth of flowerbeds lasted onto the finish to be joined by fine woody tannins and grapefruit skin.
