A serious flavour bomb

The delicate sweet floral aroma of an old-fashioned lady’s perfume together with a dusty wardrobe made out of exotic hard wood set the scene for us. However, the palate neat was very different; very lively with a sweet and sour flavour combination entwined with spicy star anise and a liquorice aftertaste. A drop of water and a fresher floral sweetness appeared, combined with ripe strawberries and pineapple slices in syrup. On the palate now less surprising, a fresh fruit salad (strawberry, pineapple, mango and orange) seasoned with cinnamon, cayenne pepper, nutmeg and chilli powder turned it into a serious flavour bomb.
