Cask No. 46.92

Petrichor agricole

Speyside, Lossie

A herbal nose of hawthorn and chopped chives mingles with the sweetness of puff candy, bourbon biscuits, chocolate-covered honeycomb chunks and natural wood vanillin. Given time some notes of rolling tobacco, trampled ferns, marzipan and salted caramel chews all appear. With water we find freshly baked bread, pinecones, petrichor, pollen and then a resurgent sweetness in the form of plum sauce, condensed milk and grape must. The palate is classical and fruit-forward. Melon, lemon, then a robust earthiness, dried thyme, horseradish, wasabi peas, herbal toothpaste and instant ramen noodles. With water it becomes almost rum-like with these notes of bicycle chain, lighter fluid and hot esters. There are liquorice flavoured cigarette papers, bitter lime extracts, dunnage and fermenting tropical fruits. Quite a ride!
