Cask No. 112.64

Warm as home-baking, sunny as Provence

Highland, Southern

Enticing aromas of well-fired rolls, bubblegum, spiced plums, barley sugars, polished wood and Armagnac, this seemed like some Sunday morning, long ago. The palate had treacle tart, maple syrup, raisins, jellied fruits, blackcurrant and black grapes, with tobacco, oak and stem ginger on the finish – beautifully rounded and pleasing. The reduced nose, with vanilla sugar, toffee, macaroons and incense, was warm as home-baking and sunny as Provence. The smooth palate had molasses cake, medjool dates and fruit liqueur, with date stones and chewing twigs in the after-taste. After nine years in ex-bourbon wood we transferred this into a first-fill charred red wine barrique.
