Carousels and sea shells
Islay
It was our big day out and a trip to the seaside to visit the fair. Breathing the mineralic and salty air we strolled amongst the sand and sea shells on a fabulously sunny day. The fairground rides were in full swing with waltzers, dodgems and carousels giving the air an evocative aroma of wood and oil. Passing the amusements with fruit stalls and shooting galleys our noses lead us to the fish and chip stall with the aroma of hot vinegar. We were delighted to also find potted shrimp, oily mackerel, scallops still in the shell and seafood salad with a herb infused vinaigrette.
