We all detected a characterful fruity aroma we described as cherry-topped cheesecake, a spicy marshmallow strawberry mousse as well as a raisin and red wine compote. On the palate plenty of spice at first but at the same time the succulent sweetness of grapes and peaches. The reduced nose offered additionally fig rolls, vanilla chocolate chip cookies, orange oil and sweet tobacco. The taste a sweet, juicy, fruity flavour was followed by a pleasant spiciness like a confit of rhubarb with orange and tarragon while in the finish a purple plum torte. After seven years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we transferred this whisky into a 1st fill PX hogshead.
