Our initial notes included fresh linens in a warm airing cupboard, rapeseed oil, kumquat, ironing water, vanilla foam, sun cream and sandalwood. A varied assortment we agreed. Some water moved things in a distinctly floral direction with physalis, pressed flowers, blackcurrant cordial, mothballs and brown soda bread. The neat palate displayed Moffat toffee, lemon sherbet, lightly phonic cask char, malt extract and heather beers with a medical tang of wintergreen. Reduction brought a more rounded profile with almond flakes, caramelised oatmeal, citrus rinds and buttered toast. A real character!
